Doug founded Carmichael Lynch Spong in 1990 and quickly built its reputation as the industry’s undisputed champion of best practices. The firm has been named “PR Agency of the Year” three times in the last five years and ranks among the nation’s 20 largest, and the world’s most decorated, public relations firms.

Doug is an accredited Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) member, Counselors Academy member, Honors and Awards Committee past chair and Minnesota chapter past president, and has received five presidential citations for extraordinary service to the society. He is a founding member, past director and treasurer of the Council of Public Relations Firms.

Before Carmichael Lynch Spong Doug was senior vice president, managing director at Colle & McVoy Public Relations and served on its parent agency’s board of directors.
